Government intends to make new Balakot a tourism destination

The federal government is planning to construct new tourist resorts in the hilly areas of Pakistan to promote tourism. PM Imran Khan recently chaired a meeting to discuss setting up New Balakot City as a tourism destination. He added that the “reputed private investors in the field of tourism and hospitality are being attracted to the Public-Private Partnership model.”

The Prime Minister directed the relevant federal and provincial authorities to encourage private investors. Moreover, he asked the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take over the project from the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority and ensure that it is turned into a tourist resort.
