Indian army’s attempt at competing with Shaheen missile ends in another failure

Indian military faced massive embarrassment after their third nuclear-capable missile test ended in failure. The country’s army fired Agni-III missile which crashed into the sea in Odisha as missile deviated from its flight path and the mission team had to terminate it, according to the army sources. Experts believe that the failure could be due to the metallurgical defects.

Swedish king and queen demand end of curfew in Kashmir

King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden have demanded an end to the curfew and communication blackout of the Jammu and Kashmir from Modi’s government. Moreover, the Royal couple has advised involving the people of Kashmir for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue. The couple urged both the countries to to resolve all the issues with mutual consent as the world cannot afford a conflict between two nuclear powers.

Saudi and UAE plan on setting up $70 billion crude refinery in India

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are planning on setting up a refinery in the western Indian state of Maharashtra that will cost at least $70 billion. The figure exceeds the initial $44 billion estimate previously announced in 2018. The refinery and petrochemicals complex, which would secure the supply of 600,000 barrels per day of Saudi and Emirati crude oil for India’s market.

The President of United States, Donald Trump, sent a wave of shock on social media after he tweeted a photo of his head photoshopped on the super-buff, bare body of the fictional boxer Rocky Balboa. The picture was tweeted on the official Twitter account on Wednesday morning, with Trump offering exactly zero explanation – not even a caption. 

TikTok ‘makeup tutorial’ calling attention to China’s treatment of Uighurs goes viral

A three-part series on TikTok by an Afghan-American teenager has gone viral for spreading awareness of China’s treatment of at least a million Uighur Muslims. Feroza Aziz, 17, who uses TikTok to upload makeup tutorials, has claimed her videos are being censored. Feroza begins by appearing to show viewers how to use an eyelash curler and then urges them to search what’s happening in China.

Indian Sikh donates his land for a mosque

An Indian Sikh merchant, Sukhpal Singh Bedi, has donated his 900 square foot land for the construction of a mosque in celebration of Babar Guru Nanak’s 550th birthday and Pakistan’s inauguration of Karatarpur corridor.He handed over the documents of the land to Zahir Farooqui, the Nagar Panchayat Chairman. Farooqui thanked Bedi on behalf of the Muslim community for his gracious act.

Louis Vuitton owning group to buy Tiffany for $16bn in cash deal

LVMH, owner of Louis Vitton and the world’s biggest luxury group, has agreed to buy Tiffany & Co. in a $16.2bn (£12.6bn) deal. The deal would transform Tiffany and Co.’s, the US jeweller famed for its engagement rings and white diamond necklaces, division of watches and jewellery. Bernard Arnault’s luxury goods empire announced it would pay $135 a share in cash.

India’s intolerance continues: two lynched to death over suspicion of stealing cows

In yet another incident of increasing religious intolerance in India, two people were beaten to death by a mob over suspicion of stealing cows. Prakash Das and Rabiul Islam were stopped by locals in West Bengal because their vehicle had no number plate. On finding two cows in the truck, the angry mob thrashed the suspects to death and set their van on fire.

Indian couple goes on trial for spying on Kashmiris, Sikhs

An Indian couple accused of spying on Sikh and Kashmiri communities in Germany went on trial on charges that carry a sentence of up to 10 years in prison. The suspects agreed to provide information about Germany’s Sikh community and Kashmir movement and their relatives to an employee of Indian foreign intelligence service Research & Analysis Wing and were paid 7,200 euros ($8,100) in return.

British Sikh community gives Lifetime Achievement Award to PM Khan

Sikh organizations in the United Kingdom have given a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ to PM Imran Khan in recognition of his efforts for opening the Kartarpur Corridor. The spokesperson to PM Imran for Trade and Investment in UK & Europe, Sahibzada Jahangir, received the award on his behalf and said that PM Khan would be honored to have received this award from the UK’s Sikh community.
