UK allows its citizens to travel to Pakistan’s northern areas

The United Kingdom has allowed its citizens to travel to tourist spots in Pakistan’s northern areas, owing to the improved security situation of the country. The announcement was made by British High Commissioner to Islamabad Dr Christian Turner, who also praised the Government of Pakistan for providing improved security. The announcement is the result of a comprehensive review of UK travel advice for Pakistan, based on a wide-ranging assessment of the country’s security situation.

War in Iran would be a ‘disaster’ for us: PM

Prime Imran Khan said on Wednesday that he told US President Donald Trump that a war in Iran would be a “disaster for us”, during the World Economic Forum. PM mentioned that in his opinion this would be insanity as the issue in Afghanistan hasn’t been resolved and Iran would even be a bigger problem.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has been featured on Time Magazine’s cover page along with four other world leaders in the publication’s special edition on the World Economic Forum. Other leaders alongside the Pakistani prime minister included founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Europe’s Central Bank President Christine Lagarde.

The change solves many problems, such as congestion and loss of potential income, many Saudis still debate whether or not it will include the custom of shops closing during prayer time, five times a day.

British-Pakistani sentenced to 7 years in prison for faking his own death

Syed Bukhari, a British-Pakistani, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for trying to fake his own death to claim one million pounds from an insurance company. Bukhari, 39, impersonated his wife on the phone, claiming that he had passed away following a heart attack in Karachi. Bukhari “used a bogus death certificate”, medical certificate, and a trust document to progress his insurance claim.

Prince Harry and Meghan to give up royal titles

Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan will give up their titles and stop receiving public funds following their decision to give up front-line royal duties. The palace said that the Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family, adding that the couple have agreed to repay some past expenses.

More than 80 soldiers killed in Yemen missile, drone attack

More than 80 Yemeni soldiers have been killed and scores injured in a missile and drone attack blamed on Huthi rebels in central Yemen. The Huthis attacked a mosque in a military camp in the central province of Marib. The drone and missile strike came a day after coalition-backed government forces launched a large-scale operation against the Huthis in the Nihm region, north of Sanaa.

Modi to invite PM Khan to SCO summit in India

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to invite PM Imran Khan to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) heads of government meeting in New Delhi, according to the Indian media. Indian foreign ministry spokesperson added all eight members and four observer states and other international dialogue partners will be invited.  The eight members include India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
