Indian woman stuffed chilli powder into the private parts of  her husband’s 22 year old ex-girlfriend. The complainant said that she was also brutally assaulted by the three women involved in this act. She was in a relationship with Girish Goswami, the husband of one of the accused women, four years ago but his wife had come to know about their patch up and had started threatening her. 

Pentagon says 64 US soldiers hurt in Iran missile strike

The number of US troops injured by an Iranian missile strike in Iraq this month has risen to 64, according to new figures released by the Pentagon. US President Donald Trump had initially said no Americans were hurt by the missiles fired on a base housing US soldiers in the country’s west on January 8, for which he was accused by democrats later.

First Pakistani from America appointed as head of NYPD volunteer force

Nasir Saleem, a Pakistani-American police officer, has become the first man of Pakistani origin to be appointed as deputy chief of the New York Police Department’s volunteer force.With 30 years of service in New York Police, Saleem is also the first Muslim to be named as Auxiliary Deputy Chief of the force. Saleem will lead the 5000-strong force.

‘India can defeat Pakistan in 10 days’: Narendra Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has claimed that India is now capable of defeating Pakistan in less than 10 days. In a speech to military personnel on Tuesday, Modi said “our armed forces will not take more than 7-10 days to make Pakistan bite the dust.” “This is ‘youthful thinking’. We carry out surgical strikes and take on terrorists in their homes,” Modi said.

Afghan Taliban attack leaves 10 policemen dead in Afghanistan

Afghan Taliban fighters attacked an outpost in northern Afghanistan killing 10 policemen. The fighting raged across the country despite ongoing talks between Washington and the militant group. The multi-pronged assault took place in Khwaja Alwan district of Baghlan province early Tuesday, said the provincial police spokesman Ahmad Jawed Basharat. He also added that the Taliban also ambushed the police forces sent to reinforce the checkpoint

Asia Bibi’s first picture in exile released on social media

Asia Bibi, the Pakistani Christian woman who was spent eight years on death row for blasphemy, has released two photographs taken in exile from Canada. Asia was released last year by Pakistan’s top court and flew to Canada, where she reunited with her family at a secret location. Asia released her pictures ahead of her biography launch.

Prince William gets new title amid royal shakeup

The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, has another title to add to his list. According to a tweet by Kensington Palace on Saturday, Queen Elizabeth II has appointed him Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. As the Lord High Commissioner, the prince will now maintain a relationship between the State and Church.

Plane crashes in Afghanistan Ghazni province

An Afghan passenger plane crashed on Monday in Ghazni province but the number of people on board and their fate was not immediately known, nor was the cause of the crash. Arif Noori, the spokesperson for the provincial governor, said the plane went down around 1:10pm local time in Deh Yak district, which is held by the Taliban. Two provincial council members also confirmed the crash.

India to ‘restore’ internet in occupied Kashmir after five months

Internet services are likely to be partly restored in Indian occupied Kashmir from Saturday, ending a five-and-a half-month government-imposed blackout in the disputed valley. According to the local authorities, social media will stay offline in the said region. Internet access will be restored later Saturday but only to 301 government-approved websites that include international news publications and platforms such as Netflix and Amazon.
