Pakistan launches first electric Taxi for northern areas

The SAPM on Climate Change of Pakistan, Malik Amin Aslam, officially launched Pakistan’s first Electric Taxi. The initiative will help cement PM Imran Khan’s vision for a Clean Green Pakistan. Amin Aslam says these e-taxis will save drivers Rs. 12,000 in budget costs. However, the government stands to save more than 2 billion from oil imports.

Taliban drastically reduce border taxes on petroleum and sugar

Torkham border crossing has been reopened by the Taliban after it had been shut following the fall of Kabul on Sunday. In addition, the Taliban have drastically reduced border taxes on several items, including sugar and petrol. A chaotic situation in Afghanistan stranded hundreds of trucks and halted cross-border trade. The country’s new rulers also formally opened its border crossing on Tuesday.

WAPDA awards Talha Talib & Arshad Nadeem cash prizes of Rs 25 lacs each

Talha Talib, and Arshad Nadeem received awards of Rs. 2.5 million each from the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) for their outstanding performance at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Talha and Arshad both performed better than expected during weight-lifting and javelin throwing, finishing fifth in both events. Furthermore, both athletes vowed to improve their performances even further in the future.

Prime Minister Imran Khan launches new national curriculum today

Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the first phase of the Single National Curriculum for grades 5 and lower. In collaboration with the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, the National Curriculum Council developed the uniform curriculum. Moreover, they consult and collaborate with the education departments of all federating units of the country.

Sindh government bans wall chalking as part of Cleanliness Drive

Murtaza Wahab, the new city administrator, has written to the Sindh government to ban wall chalking in city walls. Murtaza Wahab said the city administration made the decision to ban wall chalking in order to protect the city walls. Furthermore, traffic congestion has prompted Murtaza Wahab to reactivate the dormant City Wardens. Murtaza Wahab said he will personally supervise the posting of city wardens.
