Talha Talib, and Arshad Nadeem received awards of Rs. 2.5 million each from the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) for their outstanding performance at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Talha and Arshad both performed better than expected during weight-lifting and javelin throwing, finishing fifth in both events. Furthermore, both athletes vowed to improve their performances even further in the future.
During the WAPDA House ceremony on Monday, Talha and Arshad received the prize money. The awards were presented by WAPDA Chairman and WAPDA Sports Board Patron-in-Chief Lt Gen (r) Muzammil Hussain. The ceremony also honored the coach of Arshad Nadeem, Fayyaz Bukhari, with a cash award.
