Twitter chief technology officer Parag Agrawal will replace Jack Dorsey as CEO

The Twitter CEO will step away from his post as chief executive of the social media platform, the company announced Monday. Former chief technology officer Parag Agrawal was appointed CEO effective immediately. “I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders,” Dorsey explained.

The company said Dorsey will remain a member of the board through next year’s stockholders’ meeting. The work Parag Agrawal has done over the past 10 years has been transformational. I am grateful for his skill, heart, and soul. It is now his time to lead, Dorsey added.
