TikTok to invest half-million dollars for training of content producers in Pakistan

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Monday revealed that Tik Tok will invest half-million dollars for the training of content producers, after the app was blocked for immoral content. PTA also revealed that Tik Tok has blocked 4 million videos during the last three months and suspended 25000 accounts. This was revealed before the Senate standing committee on Information and Technology.

In addition to blocking unlawful content, PTA has taken several steps in order to educate the general public w.r.t. uploading or sharing any unlawful content on the internet and social media. 

The Committee was of the view that blocking websites and applications is not the answer to curb immorality; regulations need to put in place to achieve this goal.
