Thieves steal thousand Schengen visa stickers from Italian embassy in Islamabad

Unidentified men broke into the locker room of the Italian embassy in Islamabad, reportedly stealing 1000 Schengen visa stickers. Details indicate that on June 16, the embassy requested help from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate the theft of the visa stickers. In addition, the Italian authorities are conducting an internal investigation to determine who is responsible for the theft.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry requested the Interior Ministry and FIA to conduct an investigation and to keep track of Schengen visa stickers at all entry and exit points. Moreover, Schengen visas are the most common visas for Europe. From any of the Schengen member countries, it allows entry, free travel within, and free exit from the Schengen zone. Consequently, within the Schengen Zone, there are no border controls.
