Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, said Friday that the Afghan people appreciated Pakistan’s contribution to the Afghan people for decades. In addition, he hoped that Pakistan will continue to assist the Afghan people in terms of peace and commerce. He emphasized the importance of linking the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with Afghanistan.

He was speaking at the Pak-Afghan Youth Forum’s International Conference on “Rebuilding Afghanistan Together”. Moreover, Zabihullah Mujahid assured Pakistan that it would not be threatened by Afghanistan. Mujahid said that the Taliban are very concerned with the “one belt, one road” project. Our copper mines have rich deposits and, thanks to the Chinese, will be upgraded. Finally, China represents our ticket to the markets around the world.”
