Talha Talib wins Pakistans first-ever medal at World Weightlifting Championship

The Pakistani weightlifter Talha Talib won bronze at the World Weightlifting Championship 2021 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The 21-year-old athlete won her first-ever medal for Pakistan at the World Championships. Talha Talib won bronze in the 67kg category for males. Talha lifted 143 kilograms in the snatch category. This year, Talha represented Pakistan at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

The 67kg weightlifting contest was won by Talha for a while before he was surpassed by athletes from China, Colombia, and Italy in the final attempt. The 21-year-old weightlifter represented Pakistan for the first time in 44 years in the Olympics, without a coach.
