Pakistani filmmaker Samar MinAllah Khan’s short film wins big at Nordic International Film Festival

Pakistani anthropologist and documentary filmmaker Samar MinAllah Khan’s short film, OutSwing, won the best documentary short at Nordic International Film Festival in New York. ‘OutSwing’ tells the story of a dedicated coach who teaches an unlikely team how cricket can change people’s lives. Samar’s been referred to as ‘The Savior of Soul’, ‘Women who rock the world’, and ‘The Crusader with the camera’.

Samar has been a pioneer in utilizing innovative means of communication for social change in Pakistan. Her research focuses on developing culturally sensitive approaches to development.
