National University of Medical Sciences to introduce first-ever healing bandage in Pakistan

National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) researchers will assist the pharmaceutical industry in producing the first-ever healing bandage in Pakistan. Dr. Hussain Wahedi, a young scientist at the university, said the procedure will speed up the recovery of different kinds of wounds of injured people in the country. Moreover, to accelerate the wound-healing process, healing bandages can be used for five to twelve hours.

Furthermore, healing bandages will also be tested on human subjects in collaboration with Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU). In two years, this research project will result in the development and commercialization of a skin wound healing scaffold.
