Mohammad Hafeez withdraws from series against Bangladesh, saying youngster should get a chance

Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez withdrew from Pakistan’s three-match T20 series against Bangladesh on Monday. In his opinion, young players should have the chance to play on the tour. He will play in Pakistan’s Twenty20 World Cup semifinal game against Australia in Dubai on Thursday. Following the T20Is, Pakistan’s 18-man squad will fly to Bangladesh for two Tests.

According to a PCB release, Iftikhar Ahmed has been called back in Hafeez’s place, who is also an off-spin all-rounder. Ahmad played 13 T20Is for Pakistan but was unable to make the World Cup squad.
