The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications is evaluating seven bands for 5G services in Pakistan. “Digital Pakistan”, the country’s goal, will be achieved faster through the introduction of 5G services by December 2022, according to a ministry representative. Additionally, the launch will provide new investment opportunities and accelerate the process.

IT ministry has formed an advisory committee for 5G Planning in Pakistan. In addition, the committee is responsible for developing a roadmap for 5G technology adoption in Pakistan. Moreover, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) approved mobile operators for noncommercial 5G testing last year. PTA has also issued a framework for the testing of 5G technology and related services in Pakistan.
