KP discovers 70 million plants of wild olive trees

Mohammed Ishtiaq Umar, the provincial minister for environment and forests, said on Sunday that more than 70 million wild olive trees have been discovered in KP. Among them, 40 million trees would be grafted with the Agriculture Department’s assistance in five years. Moreover, the plants are inaccessible in some areas due to mountainous regions.

Ishtiaq Urmar said that one of our top priorities would be to plant wild olives inaccessible areas. Olives and bee plants are also part of the 10 Billion Trees Afforstration Project (10BTAP) and are already being planted. Moreover, new olive orchards will be planted by 2026 on 75,000 acres of public and private land.
