English-New Zealand women’s ODI to go ahead despite bomb threat to NZ team

New Zealand women’s team looks poised to play in Leicester for the third ODI of the series against England despite threats against them. The New Zealand team management member was contacted and told that a bomb would be placed in the hotel for the team. They were also warned of an attempt to place a bomb on their return flight to New Zealand.

Thus, the team was placed on lockdown on Monday. The training was canceled, and police and counterterrorism officials were called in. Despite it appearing for a few hours that the match would be canceled, it was later determined that the threats were “not credible”.
