Female teacher murdered after 13-year-old dreamt she committed blasphemy

 A teacher at an all-girls religious school was killed by a woman colleague and two students who accused her of blasphemy. Two students and a teacher ambushed Safoora Bibi at the main gate of the school and attacked her with a knife and stick. The girls told police a relative had dreamt the dead woman “had committed blasphemy” against the Prophet Mohammed. 

Pakistan pavilion wins ‘silver award’ for interior design

An international jury called to select the best pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai has awarded the Silver Award to Pakistan for interior design out of 192 pavilions. Last week, the Pakistan pavilion won the BURJ CEO Award for “Best Pavilion Exterior Design.” The Pakistan pavilion has been visited by over one million people since its launch in October last year.

The Burj CEO awards recognize business excellence. Rashid Rana, the brains behind the exterior, was also honoured with the third-highest civilian award Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his contributions to Pakistan in art.

Man kills pregnant wife for saying ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’

A man in Lahore murdered his pregnant wife for chanting the slogan “Mera Jism Meri Marzi”. According to details, the horrific incident took place in Lahore’s Shalimar area. Allah Ditta strangled his 28-year-old wife, Maimona, and later tried to cover it up by burning her body and posing it as an accident. However, police have arrested him.

Modarabas are equity-like financing vehicles that are a small but significant part of Islamic finance in the world’s second-largest Muslim nation.

Separated during Partition, two brothers reunite after 75 years in Faisalabad

Separated during Partition, Indian citizen Sikka Khan (78) was warmly welcomed when he arrived at the house of his brother Siddiq Khan (80) in Faisalabad. Sikka (real name is Muhammad Habib) and Siddiq Khan were separated during the Partition of India. Their father was killed in the violence, Siddiq and his sister moved to Pakistan while Sikka was left in India along with his mother. 

PTI announces PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi as candidate for Punjab CM after Usman Buzdar resigns

The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has announced PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as its candidate for Punjab chief minister after incumbent Usman Buzdar presented his resignation to the prime minister. Prime minister’s aide on political communication, Shahbaz Gill, made the announcement on Twitter. The development comes less than an hour after the opposition formally tabled a no-confidence resolution against PM Imran in the National Assembly. 

YouTube channel ‘Prime Minister’s Office’ renames to ‘Imran Khan’ inviting various questions

With the National Assembly set to vote on a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, the YouTube channel of the Prime Minister’s office has been renamed to “Imran Khan.” The “about” section of the channel shows that it was created in 2019, then it does raise a question as to why party activists were running an official account of the country’s top-most office.
