PML-N President, Shehbaz Sharif, has filed a defamation against The Mail on Sunday, a British tabloid and sister paper of the Daily Mail, for accusing him of misappropriating UK aid funds. The article published earlier this month had accused Sharif and his family of misappropriating UK government funds meant for flood and earthquake survivours during his tenure as Punjab chief minister.

On directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Punjab government has asked the inspector general prison to remove air conditioner (AC) from the prison cell of incarcerated prime minister Nawaz Sharif. The Federal Board of Revenue has now made it mandatory for all citizens to show Computer National Identity Card (CNIC) in case of purchase over Rs50,000 from a registered sales tax seller. The move will help avoid, unverifiable and fictitious business buyers which results in sales tax losses. In case of female buyers, CNIC of husband or father must be shown.

The Sessions Court in Lahore has turned down plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, seeking permission for provision of homemade food in the jail. The court ordered the PML-N leader to contact the Jail Superintendent instead.
