US comedian Fred Willard passes away aged 86

Four time Emmy award-winning comedian Fred Willard has died aged 86, his agent announced on Saturday. Willard appeared in films including “Anchorman” and “This is Spinal Tap” and TV shows such as “Modern family.” Tributes poured in for the actor, with long-time friend and fellow showbiz veteran Jamie Lee Curtis. His agent, Mike Eisenstadt, did not specify the cause of Willard’s death, nor his whereabouts at the time.

Rihanna ranked among Britain’s wealthiest women with £468m fortune

Rihanna is ranked 48th in the list of Britain’s wealthiest women. The pop star made it on to the list because she’s now based in London due to the huge success of her cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty. The 32-year old has been named as one of Britain’s richest women – with a fortune of £468 million, according to the latest edition of the Sunday Times Rich List.

Rabi Pirzada to launch a hijab and abaya brand

Former pop singer and television host Rabi Pirzada, who fell victim to a privacy breach last year, is all set to launch her own hijab and abaya brand. According to Pirzada, a few women who she helped without having a source of income wanted to thank her by sewing her clothes. That is when she came up with the idea to launch her own clothing brand. as they knew how to sew. 

Humayun Saeed denies rumours of making a Dirilis Ertugrul remake

With the popularity of Dirilus Ertugrul,  rumours started floating about Humayun Saeed working on the remake of the super-hit Turkish soap. Huamyun Saeed clarified and denied all the rumours regarding remake of Ertugrul.  However, the actor did share that he had seen the drama around two years ago and had thought about making a historical drama. 

Meera is finally back in Pakistan

After being stuck in New York, Meera has made her way home to Pakistan. The actor shared the news of her return on her Instagram with a video from the airport. The actor will now be completing 15 days in quarantine before heading to her own home to continue self-isolation. Meera expressed joy on her return and gave a special shout-out the Pakistani embassy and Pakistani consulate, both in Washington DC and NYC. 

Friends reunion delayed in hopes of a live audience

Friends reunion special has been delayed as HBO Max executives are holding out hopes of filming it before a live audience rather than shooting it. Robert Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment, said that he thought it was worth waiting until the one-off unscripted show could be filmed in a traditional way.

Ertugrul cast gets trolled on social media

Actor Ahsan Khan wants people in Pakistan to know it is not ok to troll actors and taking to twitter he said that this sort of behaviour was shameful. The actor was referring to the recent trend on social media where people were calling out and trolling stars of the Turkish series Ertugul Ghazi. 

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar announces to write script like ‘Ertugrul Ghazi’

Famous writer and poet Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has announced to write a script like Turkish drama “Ertugrul Ghazi’. The Turkish series has received overwhelming response from the Pakistani viewers. During an interview the writer told that he will be writing a similar script and also has talked to actor Humayun Saeed. 

Google honours Manto with doodle on 108th birthday

Google honoured late Pakistani journalist and screenwriter Saadat Hasan Manto on the occasion of his 108th birthday with a doodle on Monday. The illustration, made by Lahore-based guest artist Shehzil Malik, features Manto scribbling something on a page with a pen in his hand. One of the finest fiction writers of  Soth Asia, Manto was born on May 11, 1912, in Samrala in the British Indian state of Punjab.

Writer and comedian Athar Shah Khan passes away

Veteran writer, comedian, actor and poet Athar Shah Khan passed away this Sunday in Karachi. According to reports, the artist – who had been dealing with a prolonged illness – suffered a stroke. Known as Jaidi, he had remained a prominent figure in the industry since he began his career in Radio Pakistan. Jaidi leaves behind a widow and four sons.
