Bollywood’s heartthrob Rishi Kapoor passes away at 67

Legendary Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor passed away at the age of 67 in Mumbai. He had been battling leukemia since 2018. He returned to India last year after treatment in the US. Rishi’s brother Randhir said that he was taken to the hospital on Wednesday morning after he complained of breathing difficulties. His death come a day after the passing away of another Bollywood legend, Irrfan Khan. 

Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid are going to be parents: reports

Gigi Hadid and her boyfriend Zayn Malik are expecting their first child, according to a report by TMZ.  The report quoted “family sources” as saying that the supermodel is 20 weeks’ pregnant with the 27-year-old former One Direction singer. The on-again, off-again couple have yet to confirm the baby news publicly. Malik made a rare appearance on Hadid’s Instagram when she shared a slew of photos from her 25th birthday celebration. 

Versatile Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan passes away

Bollywood star, Irrfan Khan took his last breath in Mumbai, India at the age of 54. The actor had spent the last two years fighting a battle against cancer. In 2018, the actor posted on Twitter to say that he was diagnosed with an endocrine tumour, a rare illness affecting cells that release hormones into the bloodstream.

‘Ramzan Aya Roza Rakho Ji’ song, sung by  Rais Anis Sabri went viral on social media three years ago. The song gained popularity and became an anthem for everyone who’s been fasting or otherwise. On Prime Minister Imran Khan’s request, you will be able to watch Ertugrul Gazi, a Turkish soap, on PTV this Ramazan. The 179-episode drama series—whose original title is Dirilis: Ertugrul—has been dubbed into Urdu and will air daily.  According to the prime minister, watching the show will make the youth learn about Islamic history and ethics.

Shaan drops character teasers for Zarrar

Actor and director Shaan Shahid recently shared a teaser for his latest film Zarrar on social media. Last month, the actor dropped the trailer for his upcoming film on YouTube. In the film, Shaan stars in the lead as Zarrar, a member of the ISI’s special unit which is out there to eliminate threats to the country.

Netflix sees record subscriptions during pandemic lockdown

Netflix reported soaring profits as subscriptions surged by almost 16 million at the streaming television service during coronavirus lockdown. Netflix made a profit of $709 million on revenue of $5.8 billion in the first three months of this year. The number of paid subscribers grew by 15.7 million from the previous quarter to total nearly 183 million, according to earnings figures.

PTV to air series on Ertugrul Gazi on PM’s request

Turkish drama series Ertugrul Gazi chronicling the life of the Muslim warrior will be aired in Pakistan on PTV from the start of Ramazan. The 179-episode drama series—whose original title is Dirilis: Ertugrul—has been dubbed into Urdu and will be aired on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The episodes will be aired daily at 9:10pm, with repeat runs during the day. 

Lux Style Awards cancelled, funds to go towards coronavirus relief

The organisers of the Lux Style Awards announced that they have decided to cancel the event this year and redirect the funds to coronavirus relief. According to a statement on their website, they said that they will give the show funds to partner with Aakhuwat Foundation.in order to support the impacted members of their entertainment industry. 

Meera stuck in coronavirus-hit New York, asks PM Imran for help

Actress Meera has appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to arrange for her repartition as she is left helpless in New York where coronavirus has taken thousands of lives. In a video message, Meera said that her Chinese cameraman has died and she is stranded without help from anyone. Meera, a month earlier, had gone to America for the shooting of her film “Long Distance”.
