Latest NA bill declares unofficial and false moon-sightings as punishable with three-years jail time

The National Assembly of Pakistan has passed “The Pakistan Ruet-e-Hilal Bill 2022” bill declaring unofficial moon-sighting by private bodies liable to punishment. According to the bill, no committee, entity or organisation by whatever name called, other than the federal, provincial and district committees for sighting the moon, shall operate in all over Pakistan or any part.

However, the meeting of the group also comprising former Sindh governor Imran Ismail, Aamer Kiani and Mehmoud Moulvi, which was “arranged” in a separate room of the jail, apparently failed to achieve its objective.

Pakistani architect Yasmeen Lari wins prestigious UK Royal Gold Medal

Pakistan’s first woman architect Yasmeen Lari, has bagged prestigious British Gold Medal, won only by “iconic” architects from across the globe previously. The award was presented to Lari, 81, by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), which is given in recognition of a lifetime’s work. Lari received the medal for her work related to zero-carbon self-built houses for displaced populations.

British-Pakistani Enaam Ahmed crosses another motorsports milestone

Enaam Ahmed, a British-Pakistani Formula racer, set the third-fastest time during the morning session on the 2.4-mile road course at the prestigious Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The road course comprises 14 corners and is renowned for hosting some of the world’s most talented racing drivers. Enaam was racing against several experienced drivers in the series which made his third fastest time of 1:14.86 even more impressive.
