Views of Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on army’s ‘combat worthiness’ quoted ‘out of context’: ISPR

Remarks of former chief of army staff (COAS) General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa on combat preparedness were quoted ‘out of context’ said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday. Earlier it emerged that former COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa reportedly told two senior journalists that the Pakistan Army lacked the ammunition and economic strength.

Reacting to the questions being raised on the war preparedness of Pakistan armed forces, the ISPR said the forces are fully equipped with the latest war weapons which is always on standby.

Army assures the people of Pakistan that we always took and will continue to take pride in our operational preparedness and utmost combat worthiness and are ready to deal with any challenge to ensure the country’s sovereignty, the ISPR statement reads.
