Argentina to purchase JF-17 ‘Thunder’ Block III fighter jets from Pakistan

An Argentine draft budget submitted to congress indicates the nation intends to purchase 12 JF-17A Block III fighters from Pakistan. They will include two Block IIIs with dual seats and ten single-seater Block IIIs. The PAC JF-17A Block III is a supersonic, multi-role fighter aircraft of the fourth generation. There is a close relationship between the two countries in a number of fields.

The JF-17 Thunder aircraft is a joint development between China’s Chengdu Aircraft Corporation and the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. JF-17s are capable of a variety of roles, including interception, ground attack, antiship, and aerial reconnaissance.
