Shahbaz Sharif resigns as Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chief

A day before his departure to London with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif resigned from his position as Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chief. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president in his brief resignation to National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, nominated party MNA from Sheikhupura Rana Tanvir Hussain as his replacement.

National Assembly Speaker has convened a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Nov 28 for the election of its new chairman. The PAC has been non-functional as Shahbaz Sharif had not presided over its meeting for nearly six months.
