US blogger Cynthia Ritchie accuses top PPP leaders of rape and assault

A week after PPP moved Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against Cynthia D. Ritchie for slanderous tweets, the Pakistan-based American blogger has come out with accusations of rape and assault against some top PPP leaders. In a live video on her Facebook page, Cynthia accused former interior minister Senator Rehman Malik of having raped her in Islamabad in 2011.

Richie also accused former federal minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin and ex-prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani of “physically manhandling” her while Gilani was staying at the “President’s House”. Both Malik and Gilani have denied the allegations in separate statements.

The conflict between the PPP and Cynthia began last week when she tweeted what the PPP described as “derogatory and slanderous remarks” about slain former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari’s marital life.
