‘Al-Rihla’ – FIFA World Cup 2022 footballs to be made in Pakistan

The official match-ball for the FIFA World Cup 2022, named, ‘Al Rihla’ was unveiled by FIFA recently. Made in Pakistan, Al-Rihla is manufactured by the second largest sports manufacturer in the world, Adidas.  Pakistan has been the official makers of the official match-ball since the 1982 FIFA World Cup. However, Pakistan did not provide the footballs for the 2010 and 2014 World Cup.

‘Talented husband’ of three wives is looking for a fourth one, and his wives approve

A resident of Sialkot has been labelled ‘talented’ by one of his three wives, as he manages to keep them all happy. 22 year old Adnan, is married to three women and  they all live together in the same house. Even so, the wives are now looking for a fourth bride for their husband. Adnan says he spends around 1.5 lacs each month on his family. 

German fashion house Hugo Boss places first sportswear order in Pakistan

German fashion house Hugo Boss, has placed its first ever sportswear manufacturing order in Pakistan with Sialkot-based Rajco Industries for t-shirts for the German national soccer team. Earlier this week, Pakistan’s adviser on commerce Abdul Razak Dawood announced the Hugo Boss deal in a Twitter post, but did not reveal the name of the Pakistani company that had booked the order. 

Emirates to start outbound passenger flights from Sialkot

Emirates has announced to start scheduled flights from Sialkot on June 24, which will be the fourth destination from Pakistan after Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.  The UAE’s flag carrier announced that its flights from Sialkot would only carry outbound passengers to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and onward destinations. In contrast, its returning flights from UAE will carry cargo.

Lahore to Sialkot journey will only take 41 minutes from 30th March

In a bid to help facilitate the people of Sialkot and Lahore as well as boost the economy, the 91.47-Km long motorway between these two cities is set to open for public on 30th March. As per sources, a total of Rs. 44 billion was spent on the motorway and it will help slash the travel time between the two cities to just 41 minutes.

PIA aircraft escapes disaster after landing at Sialkot airport

One of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) planes has been damaged after landing at the Sialkot airport. The Boeing 777 which was flying from Jeddah to Sialkot was taxiing after the landing when one of its tires burst on a rough portion of the tarmac. The plane remained grounded at the airport for three hours and caused damage worth several hundred thousand rupees.
