Rapists should be chemically castrated or publicly hanged: PM Imran

In a recent interview, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that rapists should be hanged publicly or chemically castrated. In response to a question about the motorway gang-rape case, the premier commented that sexual offenders should be handed down the most severe punishments to curb rising sexual violence in the country. Prime Minister Imran said the motorway rape had “shaken the entire nation”.

PM Imran tops list of best politician globally for successfully fighting Covid-19

Prime Minister Imran Khan has topped the list of politician across the globe for successfully fighting the impact of COVID-19 in the country. The list released by the British news outlet, Asian World,  ranked Prime Minister Imran Khan at the top for launching a relief fund for those who were made jobless due to the current pandemics.

PM Imran refuses to accept Asim Bajwa’s resignation as SAPM

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday rejected the resignation of Special Assistant on Information Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa. “The Prime Minister is satisfied with the evidence and explanation presented by Asim Saleem Bajwa,” read a statement issued by the PM’s office. The SAPM handed in his resignation to the prime minister today and requested him to relieve him of his duties as his aide.

PM Imran orders release of sick, older female prisoners in line with top court order

Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered authorities to release from prison all female prisoners who suffer from physical or mental illness or who are age 55 or older. The premier has asked for the release of under trial and convicted women prisoners who fulfil the criteria of apex court’s order passed in April. Khan also announced that all juvenile prisoners around the country will be released.

PM Khan named Man of the Year by Jordan’s magazine, The Muslim 500

Prime Minister Imran Khan has been named Man of the Year 2020 by a Jordanian publication, The Muslim 500, for his efforts to ensure “lasting peace with India”. For Imran Khan, the magazine wrote that if The Muslim 500 was in print back in 1992 Imran Khan would have been nominated as Muslim Man of the Year because of his brilliant performance in cricket.

State of Palestine thanks PM Khan for his “strong response” on Israel

The State of Palestine has thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for his “strong response” on Israel, and for extending support to the Palestinian cause. A statement issued by Palestine embassy in Islamabad also thanked the government for condemning Israeli aggression towards Palestine. “Palestinians consider Pakistan as our second homeland and Pakistanis as our dearest brothers, who always supported Palestine” it said.

Pakistan can never recognise Israel until Palestinians are given justice: PM Imran

Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically rejected any possibility that Pakistan can establish relations with Israel after it signed a historic deal with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to normalise bilateral ties. In an interview with a private news channel, the premier said accepting the state of Israel is equivalent to give up Pakistan’s stance on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). 

PM Imran Khan did not call Osama bin Laden a martyr, clarifies special assistant

Footage of Prime Minister Imran Khan calling slain al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden a martyr has gone viral, especially in India where their official propaganda machine has gone into an overdrive to malign Pakistan. However, the premier merely misspoke as has been clarified by his spokesperson. Special assistant to PM, Dr Shahbaz Gill denounced an “unwarranted attempt” to create a controversy.

PM launches cash disbursal programme for workers

Prime Min­ister Imran Khan has launched the cash disbursal programme under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash for workers who are worst affected by the coronavirus crisis and have become jobless. The prime minister has committed that for each rupee provided by donors, Rs4 will be committed by the government. 

Pakistan to lift coronavirus lockdown on Saturday

Pakistan has decided to lift its coronavirus lockdown on May 9 (Saturday), announced PM Imran Khan on Thursday. He said that the decision is taken as many people are facing difficulties and a developing country like Pakistan cannot afford it. The premier requested the nation to follow the SOPs put in place by the government. Public transport will be opened too.
