According to Faisal Javed Khan, the PM has another show that he would like to be aired in Pakistan and that’s Yunus Emre: Aşkin Yolculuğu. The senator shared, “Yunus Emre (the Dervish) was an Islamic poet, a mystic and a poor villager. Story of a great Sufi wholly dedicated to Allah and searching for unity.*

PM orders daily commodity price reduction after petrol price cut

Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered provincial governments to ensure that daily commodities are available in markets at reduced prices. He ordered to do so after a recent cut in petrol prices. On Thursday, the federal government slashed the prices of petroleum products by Rs15 per litre for the month of May. The new price of petrol will be Rs81.58 per litre. 

PM Imran Khan to provide ration, funds to Pakistanis living abroad

Prime Minister Imran Khan aims to provide ration, funds and other help to all overseas Pakistanis in these stressful times of the novel coronavirus. For this purpose he has ordered the foreign ministry to provide him data of all overseas Pakistanis. According to the prime minister, remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis contribute to a big chunk of revenues for the country and their contribution is very crucial for Pakistan.

On Prime Minister Imran Khan’s request, you will be able to watch Ertugrul Gazi, a Turkish soap, on PTV this Ramazan. The 179-episode drama series—whose original title is Dirilis: Ertugrul—has been dubbed into Urdu and will air daily.  According to the prime minister, watching the show will make the youth learn about Islamic history and ethics.

PM agrees to defer utility bills of mosques, madrassas: aide

Prime Minister Imran Khan has agreed to the demand of Islamic clerics to defer the utility bills of all mosques, imambargahs, madrassas and other places of worship. It was announced by Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, the special assistant to the PM for information and broadcasting. The decision was taken in the light of the coronavirus.  She said the government was also aware of the academic loss of madrassa students amid coronavirus. 

PM wants action against those posting anti-judiciary content online

Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered the Federal Investigation Agency to take strict action against social media users posting anti-judiciary content. The premier has instructed the FIA director-general to form a separate team to look into the matter and submit a report soon. The FIA has been asked to curb propaganda against Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed and other Supreme Court judges.

PM Khan urges overseas Pakistanis to donate to coronavirus fund

Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that he will start a campaign to mobilise overseas Pakistanis for funds to fight against the novel coronavirus in the country. A series of tweets by the Prime Minister’s Office said that the premier along with the support of his Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari will personally handle the matter. He will address Pakistanis abroad as well.

PM Imran Khan rules out countrywide lockdown

Prime Minister Imran Khan has ruled out the possibility of a countrywide lockdown amid coronavirus’s spread in Pakistan. He justified his statement saying that the country lacks the resources to feed daily wage workers for two weeks and said he would have gone for a lockdown if the country’s situation was like other countries.

Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor advised  Prime Minister Imran Khan to take adequate precautions in this global crisis. In a tweet on Thursday, the Kabhi Kabhi star said that the people of Pakistan are also dear to them and once they were one and also expressed concern. The actor also  added that this was a global crisis and ego did not matter. 

PM Imran Khan, Maulana Tariq Jameel meet to discuss coronavirus

Prime Minister Imran Khan met religious scholar and cleric Maulana Tariq Jameel on Monday. They discussed the coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan. PM Khan urged the ulema and religious personalities to educate people about the virus. He also asked them to tell the public about precautionary measures. They did not shake hands during the meeting.
