Sacked Indian teacher arrested for cheering Pakistan’s victory in T20 World Cup match

Celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India in the T20 World Cup match has led to the arrest of a Muslim school teacher, who had previously been expelled from her job. Reports in Indian media indicate that Nafeesa Attari was apprehended and is in jail after being produced before a court by the Rajasthan police. Nafeesa was subsequently released on bail.

The teacher from India was booked on charges related to his “imputations and assertions detrimental to national integration”. She posted ‘we won’ on her WhatsApp status after the Men in Green beat India on Sunday in Dubai. She replied that she supported Pakistan when one of the parents asked if she was pro-Pakistan.
