Punjab govt bans fireworks, concerts, & aerial firing on new year’s eve

During New Year’s Eve, the Lahore district administration banned public concerts, fireworks displays, aerial firings, and other celebrations. Details indicate that the district administration imposed a ban on fireworks because smog has worsened in the provincial capital. Moreover, the government refused to grant permission for fireworks displays in the megacity on New Year’s Eve.

Concerts and other public events were prohibited by the district administration due to security reasons and cases of Omicron Covid.
