Pakistani doctor Anita Zaidi elected to top US health institution

Pakistani physician Dr. Anita Zaidi was elected to the top US health institution known as the National Academy of Medicine this week. The National Academy of Medicine is one of the highest honors in the fields of medicine and health. This institute recognizes people who have exceptional achievements and a commitment to service.

The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) was founded in 1970 as the Institute of Medicine. NAM is one of three academies that make up the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (the National Academies) in the United States. Anita Zaidi became the 172nd international member to join the institute throughout the world.
