Pakistan has been confirmed as the host nation for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The ICC has announced eight men’s tournaments between 2024 and 2031. The move comes after recent withdrawals by New Zealand and England from Pakistan tours. The tournament returns to Pakistan after an eight-year absence. Pakistan won the 2017 Champions Trophy by 180 runs against India in the final.

Previously, Pakistan had co-hosted the 1996 World Cup along with India and Sri Lanka. Since the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore, Pakistan has not been able to host many international games in the country.
