New Zealand team cancels Pakistan tour amid Security concerns

The New Zealand cricket team has canceled their tour of Pakistan due to security concerns. New Zealand Cricket took the decision following “escalating government threats against Pakistan.” The New Zealand cricket team will not play in Pakistan on the advice of their security advisors. Originally, the tour was slated to begin today with the first ODI in Rawalpindi.

The tour consists of three ODIs and five T20Is. The teams, however, did not leave their hotels until the morning of the game. The authorities even prohibited spectators from entering the stadium.

Many Pakistani officials took to Twitter to express their frustration, disappointment, and displeasure over the development, accusing New Zealand of being disrespectful.
