Man sentenced to death for smuggling ‘Squid Game’

Smugglers who sold Netflix’s hit series “Squid Game” in North Korea have been sentenced to death by firing squad. The man allegedly smuggled Korean-language shows into North Korea on USB drives from China. Several high school students were caught watching the footage. One student who bought one of the flash drives was sent to prison for life.

In addition, six others involved in watching the footage have been sentenced to five years of hard labor. The school’s teachers and administrators were fired or forced into forced labor in remote mines.
