Haleon Pakistan and Smile Train have renewed their collaboration, providing comprehensive cleft care to children across Pakistan. The announcement was made at an impactful event in Karachi, with celebrities Fahad Mirza, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Dr. Shaista Lodhi, Momal Sheikh, Sami Khan, and Sumbul Iqbal attending in support.
At the event, Farhan Haroon, CEO of Haleon Pakistan, functional nutritionist and health coach, Nazish Chagla and leading plastic surgeon and Smile Train partner, Dr. Mirza Shehab Afzal Beg, participated in a panel discussion. They shed light on the challenges faced by children with cleft conditions and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to improve their quality of life.
Through this collaboration between Haleon Pakistan and Smile Train, children born with cleft lips and palates receive free, high-quality medical treatment, including surgeries, nutrition support, orthodontics, speech therapy, and psychosocial support. Further, Haleon Pakistan will donate up to Rs. 50 from every pack of Sensodyne and Parodontax, 50 g and above, sold at participating stores between February 20 and April 30, 2025, supporting Smile Train’s mission to deliver cleft care treatments. This funding will enhance access to surgeries and comprehensive care, ensuring that children with cleft lips and palate get the opportunity to smile with confidence.
In fact, 1 in every 500 children in Pakistan is born with a cleft lip or palate, affecting their ability to eat, speak, and breathe. Moreover, social stigma and isolation further impact their mental and emotional well-being.
