JF-17 Thunder becomes the star attraction at Paris Air Show

Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) JF-17 Thunder witnessed hordes of aviation enthusiasts who turned up to witness the dynamic aerial display on the final day of the 53rd Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, Paris. The locally manufactured JF-17 Thunder remained the star attraction of the show, among other aircrafts and defence equipment displayed at the show.

Woman falls asleep on flight and ‘wakes up in a dark, locked and empty plane’

A woman has claimed she was left alone in a dark and locked plane after falling asleep on a flight. Tiffani Adams took a 90-minute Air Canada flight from Quebec to Toronto on 9 June. Ms Adams fell asleep during the journey but woke up to find the aircraft empty, cleared and parked for the night in Toronto.

UAE launches two months of visa-free entry for under 18 visitors

In order to attract families during summer season, United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to give visa-free entry for two months. Starting July 15 till September 15, visitors under age of 18 can visit without a visa which otherwise costs Dhs 497 (Rs. 21000) for 14-day visa and Dhs 917 (Rs. 39000) for 30-day visa.

US Navy pilots report seeing spherical flying objects

Reportedly, three US senators have recently received a classified briefing about an increase in UFO sightings by Navy personnel. In April, the Pentagon said there had been an increase in reported UFO sightings and if true, it is a safety concern. US pilots have been reporting seeing cylindrical objects flying at hypersonic speed off the US East Coast.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard shoots down a US drone

As relations worsen between Tehran and Washington over President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from Tehran’s nuclear deal a year ago, Iran’s revolutionary guard has shot down a RQ-4 Global Hawk. The guard claims to have shot down the drone in Iranian airspace, while a US official says it occured over international airspace in the Strait of Hormuz.

Modi ready to accept PM Imran’s message of peace

In their replies to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s congratulatory letters, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar have said New Delhi wished for peace and development in South Asia and beyond. The leaders added that India always prioritises peace and human development and called for special attention on elimination of terrorism.

Pakistan among 9 highest contributors to world population

According to United Nations, Pakistan will be among the nine countries where more than half of the world’s population increase by 2050 will be concentrated. Expected to increase from 7.7 billion currently to 9.7bn by 2050, India, Nigeria, Congo, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Indonesia, Egypt and United States will also account for more than half the projected growth of global population.

Prisoners in China being killed for forced organ harvesting

An independent tribunal investigating “forced organ harvesting” from Chinese prisoners, including Falun Gong practitioners and Uighur Muslims, concluded that despite Chinese government’s claim in 2014 that organ harvesting from executed prisoners will cease, seemingly large numbers of transplants are still taking place. Tribunal also falsified China’s claims that it follows World Health Organization’s guiding principles on human organ transplant.

Saudi launches probe into ‘halal’ nightclub

Saudi Arabia’s first mixed men and women night club, termed as #JeddahDisco, was closed on its opening event as authorities claimed the venue had not received necessary license to operate. The halal disco also had a “halal bar” and shisha that ranged from 370 to 500 Saudi riyals (PKR15500 – PKR21000), videos from inside of the club showed.

Boxer Amir Khan hopes to avenge Pakistan’s World cup defeat

British-Pakistani boxer Amir King claimed that he will avenge Pakistan’s loss against India in the World Cup match by knocking India’s boxer Neeraj Goyat in their upcoming fight in Saudi Arabia on July 12. Khan also offered to help Pakistan cricket team by giving fitness advise as he believes the team has talent but lacks strength and focus.
