Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Monday revealed that Tik Tok will invest half-million dollars for the training of content producers, after the app was blocked for immoral content. PTA also revealed that Tik Tok has blocked 4 million videos during the last three months and suspended 25000 accounts. This was revealed before the Senate standing committee on Information and Technology.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has asked YouTube to “immediately block vulgar, indecent, immoral, nude and hate speech content for viewing in Pakistan”. The PTA said viewing such content has “extremely negative effects” and can foster “repugnant discord”. YouTube did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and PTA declined to speak about the authority´s next step if YouTube does not comply.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided to ban live streaming application Bigo,citing complaints from people regarding the “immoral, obscene and vulgar” content. Morever, the authority also issued a “final warning” to video-sharing service TikTok over problematic content on the platforms. The PTA said the video sharing apps were having negative effects on the society in general and the youth in particular.
Host Waqar Zaka has said that he will be filing a petition in the Sindh High Court to lift the ban on PUBG. In the latest video on his YouTube channel, Zaka said the move has been made by those who want to “prevent the youth of Pakistan from excelling in e-sports” and also do not want Pakistan to excel in e-commerce.
