The registration process for PUBG Pakistan Challenge 2020 will start on 9 November and will close on 15 November. PUBG Mobile is increasingly recognizing the love and support the Pakistani gaming community has shown to the game and announced to introduce dedicated Urdu voice packs in the game.

Zong carries out first-ever 5G video call experiment in Pakistan

Zong has successfully carried out the first-ever 5G video call experiment in Pakistan.  Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin-ul-Haque, using Zong 4G network, made a 5G video call to Beijing and enjoyed the excellent voice and video quality,  a unique feature of 5G. The inauguration ceremony of the experimental 5G video call was held at Zong Headquarter Islamabad. 

TikTok to invest half-million dollars for training of content producers in Pakistan

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Monday revealed that Tik Tok will invest half-million dollars for the training of content producers, after the app was blocked for immoral content. PTA also revealed that Tik Tok has blocked 4 million videos during the last three months and suspended 25000 accounts. This was revealed before the Senate standing committee on Information and Technology.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority asks YouTube to block objectionable content

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has asked YouTube to “immediately block vulgar, indecent, immoral, nude and hate speech content for viewing in Pakistan”. The PTA said viewing such content has “extremely negative effects” and can foster “repugnant discord”. YouTube did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and PTA declined to speak about the authority´s next step if YouTube does not comply.

PTA maintains PUBG is a ‘wastage of time’ and will not be unblocked

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in its detailed order has said the popular online game, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), is “highly addictive” and a “wastage of time” and will not be unblocked. In a detailed order released on July 23, the PTA ruled that it was necessary to block the online game in the interest of public order.

IHC calls PTA’s ban on PUBG void, directs immediate restoration of online game

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has declared the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA’s) move to suspend Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) void and directed the authority to “immediately” restore the online game. The move comes in direct contrast to a Tweet posted by PTA last night, announcing that the game would remain blocked in the country.

Last YouTube ban caused Pakistanis an estimated loss of Rs. 9 bn; a new ban could be even worse

PTA bans live streaming app Bigo, issues final warning to TikTok over obscene content

 Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided to ban live streaming application Bigo,citing complaints from people regarding the “immoral, obscene and vulgar” content. Morever, the authority also issued a “final warning” to video-sharing service TikTok over problematic content on the platforms. The PTA said the video sharing apps were having negative effects on the society in general and the youth in particular.

Waqar Zaka to challenge PUBG ban in Sindh High Court

Host Waqar Zaka has said that he will be filing a petition in the Sindh High Court to lift the ban on PUBG. In the latest video on his YouTube channel, Zaka said the move has been made by those who want to “prevent the youth of Pakistan from excelling in e-sports” and also do not want Pakistan to excel in e-commerce.
