Pakistan’s blind cricket team defeated arch rival India in the final of a tri-nation T-20 tournament played in Dhaka and won the series. Pakistan played first and set a target of 175 runs in 15 overs, which its bowlers easily defended. Pakistan’s skipper scored 69 runs off 50 balls with the help of 7 fours and remained the top scorer.

PSL 6 gets delayed after 7 Covid-19 cases reported in competition

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 has been delayed “with immediate effect” after seven people participating in the tournament tested positive for Covid-19. The PCB said the decision had been taken out of consideration for the health and wellbeing of all participants in the tournament. The decision was taken following a meeting with the team owners.

After making claims of being ‘mentally tortured’, Pakistan left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has announced his retirement from international cricket.  The 28-year-old said that he cannot continue to play under such circumstances. Gujjar, who was bullied at school after growing to more than 6ft by the age of ten, hopes to overtake Mohammad Irfan as the tallest bowler to play international cricket. Gujjar has already been picked up by his local cricket team the Lahore Qalandars .

PSL franchises move court against PCB seeking change in current financial model

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), seeking alteration in the current financial model of the league. The PSL teams decided to lodge the case after reportedly suffering huge losses since the inception of the league due to the ‘faulty’ financial model. Franchises complained that they suffer massive losses due to the event.

Australian great and Pakistan Super League (PSL) regular Dean Jones passed away from a heart attack on Thursday. Jones, 59, was in India for the coverage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. He was a two-time winner of the PSL with Islamabad United in 2016 and 2018. The last position he held in the league was of the head coach of Karachi Kings in PSL 2020.

Zimbabwe cricket to tour Pakistan for a six-match ODI, T20 series next month

Zimbabwe Cricket have received government permission for a six-match limited overs tour of Pakistan in October-November. The teams will play three One-Day Internationals between October 30 and November 3, and another three Twenty20 International fixtures that have been pencilled in for Nov 7-10. The ODI series will be part of the inaugural ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.

Shaheen Afridi becomes first Pakistani to take four wickets in four balls in T20

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi took four wickets in four consecutive balls during the T20 Vitality Blast match against Middlesex in Southampton, The 20-year-old is only the seventh player to take four wickets in four balls in a T20.
