PSL 6 gets delayed after 7 Covid-19 cases reported in competition

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 has been delayed “with immediate effect” after seven people participating in the tournament tested positive for Covid-19. The PCB said the decision had been taken out of consideration for the health and wellbeing of all participants in the tournament. The decision was taken following a meeting with the team owners.

Six members of the Pakistan cricket squad, which is currently on a tour to New Zealand, have tested positive for the coronavirus. The team also received a “final warning” for flouting quarantine rules. New Zealand health authorities revoked the players’ ability to train while in isolation, making clear they would not tolerate risky behaviour in a country that has largely eradicated the virus.

PSL franchises move court against PCB seeking change in current financial model

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), seeking alteration in the current financial model of the league. The PSL teams decided to lodge the case after reportedly suffering huge losses since the inception of the league due to the ‘faulty’ financial model. Franchises complained that they suffer massive losses due to the event.
