Student arrested for cheating via surgically implanted earpiece

An intermediate student from Pakpatan has been caught using a surgically implanted earpiece in his ear to cheat in the examinations. He was caught by the chairman of the Sahiwal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (SBISE), Hafiz Shafiq, who was on inspection duty.During the interrogation, Farooq revealed that a local dispenser had implanted the device with the help of a few cuts around his ear and neck.

Lahore professor commits suicide amid harassment case

An English language professor  at Government MAO College died by apparent suicide on Saturday amid harassment case. According to some reports, Professor Afzal took his life after his wife separated and the college administration refused to issue a clearance certificate even after the allegations against him were proven false. The body was handed over to the family without conducting postmortem. 

Indian students forced to wear cartons on their heads

Students were made to wear cartons on their heads during exam to stop them from cheating at a private college in India’s Karnataka. After receiving various negative responses to the act, the college’s head justified it by referring to a similar act in a college in BIhar which was widely appreciated on social media and added, this was for the betterment of the students so that their minds don’t get diverted. 

Aman ambulance service suspended

Aman ambulance service has temporarily discontinued its operations due to lack of funds from the Sindh government. According to an ambulance service official  due to unavailability of funds since the last few months they had to cut fleet and services before suspending the services which also lead to delay in payment of staff salaries for over four months. 

Woman from Hazara makes it to BBC’s ‘100 Women of 2019’

Jaila Haider, a woman from Hazara Pakistan is included in The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)’s ‘100 Women of 2019′ list. Jaila, being a human rights lawyer is working zestfully for women rights and offer free legal services to needy women across the country.  BBC has enlisted her as the ‘first woman lawyer from the Hazara community’. 

This female mechanic can diagnose a car’s issue just by its sound

Uzma Nawaz, one of the few female car mechanics in Pakistan belongs to Dunyapur, a small town of South Punjab grew up with a passion for cars and completed her degree in mechanical engineering. Uzma followed her passion and degree against all the odds, started a job at Toyota Motor’s workshop in Multan later she was promoted to general repairs with determination and hard work. 

Female teacher booked for sexually abusing student

A female teacher has been booked for sexually abusing as well as blackmailing the student with inappropriate videos in Rahim Yar Khan. The student named Zohaib Ahmed registered a complaint against this action at B division police station. According to Zohaib his younger brother, aged 12 was given a sedative,  assaulted sexually and then recorded the odious act through which she blackmailed the boy several times.

Starbucks apologies after Pakistani man’s video goes viral

Starbucks, a renowned coffee house has been forced to issue an apology after a video uploaded by a Pakistani man, Sajid Kahloon who belongs to Gojra has gone viral on social media. According to the details Sajid payed for the homeless man’s bill but he still wasn’t allowed to sit and have food there. The video was viewed by thousands of people forcing the coffee chain to apologise for their staff’s behaviour.

Two innovators from Pakistan, Muhammad Zainulabadin Mughal and Sheikh Muhammad Sharjeel want to promote the reading culture in the country by way of their app. WeRead will help encourage the resurgence of a culture of reading and will also help underprivileged students access course books

Boy Beaten up by Politician’s security guards

Najam, a teenager boy from Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase 5 was beaten publicly by a Politician’s guards after he was unable to give way for them to pass through.  His mother revealed the suspects as according to her the guards work for Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti (Member of National Assembly). Najam’s mother claimed that despite the unlawful violence no action is taken against anyone by the Police.
