Diamond Supreme Foam has received a copyright infringement notice from PEMRA, claiming that Papa Jaani is a trademarked phrase. The court immediately accepted Molty Foam’s complaint and has barred Diamond Supreme from running the campaign and ordered to take down the advertisement which began earlier last month.
Three majors of Pakistan Army have been found guilty of indiscipline and misconduct charges, including abuse of authority and involvement in illegal activities. All three officers have have been dismissed from service, while two have been awarded rigorous imprisonment for two years each. The exact nature of charges have not been specified and it remains unclear what the three officers were found guilty of.
Punjab Cabinet approved measures to increase fines for car drivers in a bid to dissuade traffic violations in the province. Fines for motorbike drivers have been increased to Rs. 300 from Rs. 200 whereas for car drivers from Rs. 500 to Rs. 700. According to the Provincial Minister Aslam Iqbal the raise in fines for traffic rules violation will not only help ensure better traffic management but will also create more caution.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)has rejected four applications filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) seeking secrecy during the scrutiny of its foreign funding sources. Dissident founding member of the PTI Babar had filed the foreign funding case before the ECP in 2014. In March 2018, a scrutiny committee had been formed to look into PTI’s foreign funding accounts to ascertain any wrongdoing.
A ‘verbal agreement’ reached between authorities from Twitter and Pakistani government has confirmed that verified accounts of Pakistani users will not be unilaterally suspended or terminated. After New Delhi stripped Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) of its semi-autonomous status, over 300 handles were suspended for tweeting in support of Kashmiris. Accounts of journalists and news channels highlighting rights violations in IOK also received warnings.
The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) solicited permission from Islamabad’s administration to hold its planned ‘Azadi March’ on October 27 at D-Chowk. JUI-F’s chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman announced the anti government March to put an end to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rule last week. He also warned the government against creating any hurdles in its way of his march and requested the city’s administration to make security arrangements as required.
Adviser to Prime Minister on Establishment Division Shahzad Arbab has said that Central Superior Services (CSS) aspirants would first undergo a necessary screening test. In line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision on institutional reforms and revamping the civil service in Pakistan, the test would be made mandatory and would decide whether the applicant will be allowed to take the test or not.
