Babar Azam becomes first Pakistani skipper to surpass Imran Khan’s record in England

Babar Azam became the first Pakistani cricketer to score an ODI century since 1983 by breaking Imran Khan’s record. Azam, meanwhile, has already crossed the landmark in 14 ODIs, making him the fastest batsman. He set many records in the final ODI against England, played on Tuesday at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.

Babar Azam achieved the feat in his third ODI against England as he scored 158 runs off 137 balls. Prime Minister Imran Khan hit a century in Leeds before Azam in 1983. Babar also surpassed Shoaib Malik’s record for the highest individual score as captain of the team.
