PCB collaborates with Arif Habib Group to install drop-in pitches in Pakistan

PCB chairman Ramiz Raja has announced that Pakistan will get drop-in pitches as the board looks to improve cricket in the country. The PCB has also signed an MoU with Arif Habib Group in this regard during season seven of the PSL. It is estimated that both pitches will cost Rs. 37 crores. The installation of a drop-in pitch at Karachi’s Naya Nazimabad Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan sets Guinness record for ‘most cars in a drive-in music concert’

Pakistan smashed the Guinness World Record for “most cars in a drive-in music concert” in the federal capital on Saturday. Music concert in Islamabad organized by telecom operator Jazz in partnership with Active Media Partners and Park View City. The concert featured Bilal Khan, Ali Azmat, and Atif Aslam. The organizers approached Guinness World Records with the interest of setting a world record.

Talha Talib wins Pakistans first-ever medal at World Weightlifting Championship

The Pakistani weightlifter Talha Talib won bronze at the World Weightlifting Championship 2021 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The 21-year-old athlete won her first-ever medal for Pakistan at the World Championships. Talha Talib won bronze in the 67kg category for males. Talha lifted 143 kilograms in the snatch category. This year, Talha represented Pakistan at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Govt declares Murree a no-smoking zone

Muhammad Ali, Rawalpindi’s Deputy Commissioner (DC), has ordered that the tourist city of Murree be made a no-smoking zone. The announcement was made during the district’s Tobacco Control Implementation Committee meeting. He is insisting on immediate action to make Murree a no-smoking zone. It will also set an example for a smoke-free Pakistan since the tourist destination receives visitors from across the country.

Users can use this new feature which will be supported by Novi. Meta’s recently launched digital wallet service, Novi, will use the US. PCB plans to provide fans with internet during tournament

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is working to ensure that fans have a good experience during the Pakistan Super League. The PCB chairman said in a video statement that improving the fans’ experience is necessary. The board also announced that free internet services would be installed at the stadium during the tournament.

Kuwait bans entry of ships carrying goods to and from Israel

Kuwait has prohibited the entry of commercial vessels carrying goods to and from Israel into its territorial waters. Rana Al-Faris, minister of public works and state minister of communications and information technology, announced the ban over the weekend. The Kuwaiti ban stands in sharp contrast to the practices of other Gulf nations. 

TTP declares end to ceasefire with government

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended a month-long truce on Thursday arranged with the aid of the Afghan Taliban. According to them, the government breached a prisoner release agreement and a negotiating committee agreement. In their agreement, both sides accepted the role of mediation to be played by the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan” (IEA).
