Pakistan appreciates Turkey’s positive role in Syria

 Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated Turkey’s operation for “peaceful resolution of the Syrian situation”. PM told Erdogan over a telephone conversation that Pakistan is fully aware of the threats faced by Turkey and is hopeful that Turkey’s efforts for peaceful Syria are successful. He also assured Pakistan’s full support and solidarity for this operation.

During an interview with Britain’s metro newspaper,  the 37-year old confidently nominated herself to be stepping into Daniel Craig’s shoes. She also added that she’s always been keen on playing this role but she can’t put herself into the race but would definitely love to see a female Bond in her lifetime.

Keanu Reeves will not be ‘The One’ to lead The Matrix 4, Aquaman‘s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will be doing the role.  Black Mirror actor at the forefront, along with franchise legends Reeves (Neo) and Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity) will be starred in the most awaited continuation of the series. The Matrix  is a thought-provoking sci-fi that was released in 1999 and revolutionised action cinema. 

Molty Foam sues Diamond Supreme Foam for using the phrase ‘Papa Jaani’

Pakistan’s leading mattress brands have begun a legal fight over the phrase ‘Papa Jaani’. Diamond Supreme Foam has received a copyright infringement notice from PEMRA, claiming that Papa Jaani is a trademarked phrase. The court immediately accepted Molty Foam’s complaint and has barred Diamond Supreme from running the campaign and ordered to take down the advertisement which began earlier last month.

3 army majors found guilty of abuse of power, involvement in illegal activities

Three majors of Pakistan Army have been found guilty of indiscipline and misconduct charges, including abuse of authority and involvement in illegal activities. All three officers have have been dismissed from service, while two have been awarded rigorous imprisonment for two years each. The exact nature of charges have not been specified and it remains unclear what the three officers were found guilty of.

Mexican mayor tied to truck, dragged through street in protest

Mexican mayor Escandon dragged through the town in southern Mexico from the back of a pickup truck by the angry farmers in protest. The mayor was dragged several meters down the street before police stepped in and freed him. Escandon inculpated the farmers of trying to coerce him.  The attackers were demanding more public resources, including direct cash transfers, for their rural community according to the State prosecutor. 

Punjab Government Increases Fines to Dissuade Traffic Violations

Punjab Cabinet approved measures to increase fines for car drivers in a bid to dissuade traffic violations in the province.  Fines for motorbike drivers have been increased to Rs. 300 from Rs. 200 whereas for car drivers from Rs. 500 to Rs. 700. According to the Provincial Minister Aslam Iqbal the raise in fines for traffic rules violation will not only help ensure better traffic management but will also create more caution. 

Electric bikes to be assembled in Punjab by local companies

Two motorbike manufacturers are working together in Sahiwal, Punjab to manufacture electric motorbikes in Pakistan. Electric bikes which has almost become a need for the middle-class motorbike riders due to a rise in fuel prices were introduced earlier by many companies but didn’t win any public attention as they were very costly.
