An ‘anti-national birdie’ rose to fame after rejecting to walk on Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s arm. PM Modi was inaugurating an aviary during a two-day visit to the state of Gujarat. The park staff tried to get a Macaw to sit on the Indian PM’s arm. But the wise bird clearly refused, which left Modi a little irked.

Modi govt request to test Ganges for virus cure declined

India’s top medical research body has turned down a proposal by the Modi government to test water from the Ganges river as a cure for coronavirus. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) turned down the request as it is focusing on the Covid-19 battle and does not want to waste time on other research.  ICMR’s head of the Department of Research Management, said that the matter is at a very preliminary stage.

Modi threatens to stop water flow to Pakistan

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has threatened that his government will stop water flowing to Pakistan and divert it to Haryana state. Addressing an election rally in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, Modi said, “For 70 years, the water which belongs to India and the farmers of Haryana flowed to Pakistan. I will stop this water and bring it to your houses.”

Travel agents in Pakistan bycott Etihad airways for awarding Modi

Pakistan Travel Agent Association has decided to boycott of UAE-based Etihad Airways due to the ongoing tensions over Kashmir. The association’s chairman Khawaja Ayub Naseem said that the airline’s boycott is to protest against UAE giving ‘Killer Modi’ its highest civilian award. He said that the Dubai-bound visitors will be briefed of UAE’s anti-Kashmir move and will try to change their mind.

Pakistan and India can handle Kashmir issue on their own, says Donald Trump

US President Donald Trump said that Pakistan and India could handle the issue of Kashmir on their own. The US president had previously offered to mediate between the two neighbouring coutries, but while speaking during a press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Trump said, “Pakistan and India can handle the issue on their own, but I am here.”

India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi, will appear with Bear Grylls in a wilderness survival programme, in which the 68-year-old leader projects himself as a man of action and champion of environment. A trailer of Man vs Wild, will air on 12 August. The two men are seen cutting through forests, sniffing animal dung and floating down a river on a makeshift raft.

Modi ‘pained’ by the torturous lynching of Muslim man

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has always faced criticism for not speaking against oppression on Muslims and other minorities by Hindu vigilantes, has finally stood up for Tabrez Ansari. Speaking in the upper House of Parliament, Modi said that he is ‘pained’ due to the killing of the 24 year old and those responsible should be given ‘harsh punishment’.
