Pakistan’s latest jets can dodge India’s most advanced air defenses

The Pakistan Air Force’s latest jets equipped with near-stealth features, can easily dodge India’s advanced tracking system. The PAF expects to add 50 JF-17 fighter jets built jointly with China to replace old aircraft and upgrade capability against India’s missile defense system. A rollout ceremony was held in December and the new JF-17 jets will fly at the national day military parade on March 23.

PAF fighter jet crashes in Islamabad, pilot martyred

A Pakistan Air Force fighter jet crashed in Islamabad Wednesday morning during the rehearsals for the March 23 parade, the air force spokesperson confirmed. The PAF has identified the pilot as Wing Commander Nauman Akram. He did not survive the crash. The aircraft crashed near the Pakistan Museum of Natural History park, which is right next to the parade ground.

Supreme Court tells Arshad Malik to choose between PAF, PIA

The Supreme Court has told Air Marshal Arshad Mehmood Malik to choose between the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and PIA. He cannot hold two posts at once, said the bench, which declared his appointment as chief of the national airlines illegal. The court said PIA needs a permanent CEO that will make it into an international standard airline. It should be providing better services to passengers, it said.

Second PAF trainer aircraft crashes in less than a week

A trainer aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed near Mardan, making it the second one in less than a week. According to a press release, the PAF trainer aircraft crashed on a routine training mission near Takht Bhai. The pilot safely ejected the aircraft before it fell. Board of inquiry has been ordered by Air Headquarters to determine the cause of accident. 

PAF sends medical supplies to China as a gesture of friendship

After the Chinese foreign ministry had urged the world for help for curing coronavirus, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has sent a military aircraft loaded with medical supplies as a part of rescue services to China. The second batch of the supplies will land in Wuhan this week as the country continues its fight against the mysterious virus that has already infected over 14,000 people worldwide.

Two PAF pilots martyred as plane crashes near Mianwali

Two Pakistan Air Force (PAF) pilots have been martyred after their plane crashed near Mianwali, according to a spokesperson of the air force. The pilots have been identified as Squadron Leader Haris Bin Khalid and Flying Officer Ibaadur Rehman. The plane, FT-7, was on a routine operational training mission when the crash occurred. A board of inquiry has been ordered by the Air Headquarters to determine the cause of the accident.

Army chief, Air chief fly jets in ‘combat mission simulation’

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa flew in an F-16 with Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan in another American fighter jet as both aircraft proceeded to maneuver for a combat action simulation mission at PAF Base Mushaf, Sargodha. After the mission, the COAS interacted with fighter pilots of the squadron and lauded their professionalism.

Abhinandan’s mannequin, remains of jet and tea cup displayed in PAF Museum

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Museum in Karachi has dedicated an entire section to Operation Swift Retort, which led to downing of India’s Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. Varthaman’s likeness and the remains of the aircraft he piloted form the main attractions of the exhibit. A mannequin painted to resemble the wing commander and dressed in his flight overalls has put on display.

Pakistani filmmaker to make comedy movie on Abhinandan

Pakistani filmmaker and director Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has announced to make a comedy movie on Indian Wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman. In the movie titled “Abhinandan Come On”, Shamoon Abbasi will be seen playing role of the downed Indian pilot. The movie expected to release this September was planned after Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi announced last week to make a movie on Abhinandan.

PAF pilots awarded with military medals for downing Indian jet

President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi conferred military honour upon two brave sons of the soil, Wing Commander Noman Ali and Squadron Leader Hasan Mehmood, for downing an Indian jet on February 27 in the aftermath of which an Indian pilot was arrested. Wing Commander Noman Ali was conferred Sitara-i-Jurat and Sq Leader Hasan Mehmood Siddiqui was awarded Tamgha-i-Jurat.
