Communications Minister Murad Saeed at a press conference has vowed to take legal action against Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan for “disgracing him and the PM” in her book launched in July 2018. Ms Reham, who married Imran Khan in 2015, had made serious allegations against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sexual orientation is homosexual, suggesting he had relationships with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) members.
Journalist Mohsin Baig who was detained in a raid has claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to torture him. Baig is currently in police custody and was held for making ‘derogatory and demeaning’ remarks on a news channel last week about the premier and Minister of Communications Murad Saeed.
Murad Saeed remained on top in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ceremony for his best performing ministers on Thursday. Murad Saeed is the Minister for Communication and Postal Services. Federal Minister for Planning and Development and NCOC head Asad Umar, and SAPM on Poverty Alleviation Sania Nishtar secured second and third positions as best performing ministries.
After a record breaking revenue by the Ministry of Communications, Murad Saeed has set a new precedent for other ministers. Murad’s ministry has generated a revenue of Rs. 43.32 billion during 2018-19 compared to Rs 28.64bn in 2017-18, registering a record increase of Rs 14.68bn (51.25% increase) during the period. Murad was also able to recover Rs. 7 billion.
