First Pakistani team from LUMS reaches final round of Global Case Competition Harvard

For the first time in LUMS history, a team from Pakistan has managed to break into the final round at the most prestigious global case competition: The Global Case Competition at Harvard University. The team, ranking as one of the Top 10 finalists out of a pool of 150+ submissions, managed to secure the position after competing with some of the best business schools around the world.

First of its kind- LUMS to introduce Cryptocurrency academic program in Pakistan

One of Pakistan’s leading universities, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has introduced for the first time, an academic program on Cryptocurrency. LUMS will use five million STX tokens (currently equivalent to about PKR 670 million or US $4.1 million) granted by Hiro to develop and build educational programmes that will enable faculty and students to research blockchain, cryptocurrencies, distributed-ledger technology and more.

FIR registered against LUMS students for ‘spreading obscenity’ in Malam Jabba

After a video of LUMS students partying at a resort in Malam Jaba went viral on social media, an FIR has reportedly been registered against the students and the hotel management for “spreading obscenity”. While many had enjoyed the viral clip, some social media users had said that male and female students dancing together was an un-Islamic act.

Pakistani student scores highest marks in ACCA exam globally

Pakistani student from Lahore has been declared the global winner by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for scoring the highest marks among students from all over the world. Muhammad Abdullah appeared in the ACCA’s Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) examination in September. Abdullah is currently taking an ACCA-embedded BSc. in Accounting and Finance program at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

Biomechanics lab at LUMS gets ICC accreditation

After ten years of planning, Pakistan’s biomechanics facility set up at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) has secured ICC accreditation. PCB’s lab is sixth lab in world to be ICC-accredited, joining those in Brisbane, Chennai, Cardiff, Loughborough and Pretoria. The lab can carry out official bowling tests of international and domestic bowlers whose actions are reported as illegal.
