Fake CIA officials loot a police SP in Islamabad

Bannu SP, Nisar Ahmed Khan, has registered a case at the Margalla Police Station in Islamabad after he and his wife were robbed by thieves impersonating as CIA officials. The two were robbed at Margalla Road in Islamabad in November when fake officials stopped their car and asked them for the documents. The document inspection then turned into an armed robbery, as the robbers stole 8 tolas of gold.

Dead chickens delivered to a restaurant in Islamabad

A video has recently surfaced on social media, where a chicken supplier was seen readying a pickup full of dead chicken for delivery. When asked he clearly mentioned that he will be delivering the chicken to “Bao Jee Murgh Pulao at Khanna Pul” Islamabad. An inquiry has been initiated after the release of video to ascertain the authenticity and food samples have been taken for testing by Deputy Director of ICT Food department. 

Monal Islamabad built on military’s land, Army wants land back

Monal Restaurant is built on military land in the Margalla Hills which the army wants back, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Member Planning Dr Shahid Mahmood told a parliamentary committee. He told the National Assembly Standing Committee on Climate Change that 15 years ago the CDA “did not know it was building Monal Restaurant on military grasslands until the army started claiming it.”

Drones banned in Islamabad by District Administration

 District administration Islamabad has placed a two-month ban on flying unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones in the vicinity of the federal capital. Large number of Islamabad’s residents possess drones which poses a security threat such as terrorist attack during the Azadi March congregation. Any unexpected incident can worsen the law and order situation in the capital and can act as a threat to lives of the residents. 

War against government will only end with its fall: JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam on Saturday analogised the upcoming Azadi March to a “war” which he said will “only end with the fall of the government”. Rehman claimed that the entire country will be a battlefield that will culminate in Islamabad. Later, he added that the party’s strategy won’t remain stagnant and will keep evolving to cope up  with any situation. 

Entrance of HTV banned in Islamabad during peak hours

In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic during peak hours, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has banned entry of heavy travelling vehicles (HTV) in the federal capital for seven hours on daily basis. Entry of heavy traffic in the city would not be allowed from 7 am to 10 am and from 4 pm to 8 pm for maximum convenience for road users.

Safa Gold Mall in Islamabad gets sealed by CDA

Capital Development Authority (CDA) has partially sealed the Safa Gold Mall on the orders of the Supreme Court. The CDA team reportedly sealed the basement of the mall, food courts and the offices of the management after court ruled last week that the mall was illegally built on a hospital plot. The court has ordered to retrieve the land.

PIA plane skids off at Gilgit airport while landing

A PIA flight skidded off the runway as pilot failed to control the plane while landing. Flight PK 605, carrying 48 passengers, was flying from Islamabad to Gilgit Saturday morning. No injuries were reported and all passengers and crew aboard the flight are safe. The PIA CEO ordered an investigation into the accident and lauded the professionalism of the pilot.

Islamabad and Karachi among world’s least expensive cities

In a survey carried out by Mercerl, Islamabad and Karachi have been rated among least expensive metropolitans in the world. The survey is based on the cost of over 200 items in each city – including housing, transport, food, clothing, household goods, and entertainment. Islamabad has been listed 203rd in the list of most expensive cities, while Karachi stands on 207.

22-year-old blogger killed in Islamabad’s G-9/4 area

Muhammad Bilal Khan — with over 16,000 followers on Twitter, 48,000 on  YouTube channel and 22,000 on Facebook — received a phone called to go to G-9 area, where a man took him into forest and apparently stabbed him. Deceased’s father claims his son had no personal enmities but his only fault was to speak about the Prophet (P.B.U.H) and his companions.
