Former Vice President Joe Biden and President Donald Trump will have their microphones muted during portions of the second and final presidential debate. The Commission on Presidential Debates announced the decision that angered the President. They decided that the changes were needed because of how the first debate between Biden and Trump devolved into chaos, with the President frequently interrupting the former vice president.

Midway through Tuesday night’s chaotic presidential debate, viewers all over the world could not help but notice Joe Biden using the famous Arabic phrase ‘Inshallah’ to mock President Trump. When Trump vowed to release his still-private tax returns, Joe Biden shot back at his opponent with a particularly sarcastic jab. While the phrase translates to “God willing,” it also has colloquial connotations of ambiguous commitment.

Donald Trump announces “peace deal” between Israel and Bahrain

US President Donald Trump announced on another “peace deal”, this time between Israel and Bahrain. This deal makes Bahrain, the second Arab country to settle with its former foe in less than a month, United Arab Emirates (UAE) being the first one. A joint US-Israel-Bahrain statement said there would be “full diplomatic relations”.

Norwegian lawmaker nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize for brokering UAE/Israel deal

A Norwegian lawmaker has nominated US President Donald Trump for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for his role in brokering a deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. This is the second time he has put forward the US president for the honour. The Norwegian Nobel Committee, which decides on the award, declined to comment.

Twitter labels Trump tweets as ‘unsubstantiated’ for first time

Twitter labelled two of Donald Trump’s tweets “unsubstantiated” and accused him of making false claims on Tuesday. Trump’s tweets contended without evidence that mail-in voting would lead to fraud and a “Rigged Election.” Under the tweets, Twitter posted a link that read “Get the facts about mail-in ballots” and which took users to a notice pointing out that the claims are “unsubstantiated”, citing reporting by CNN, the Washington Post and other media outlets.

10-year-old Pakistani-American girl honoured as ‘coronavirus hero’ by Donald Trump

United States President Donald Trump recognised the services of a 10-year-old Pakistani-American girl named Laila during a ceremony to honour ‘coronavirus heroes’. According to the US Embassy in Islamabad, Laila and her friends are part of a girl scouts group from Maryland and donated 100 boxes of cookies to nurses and firefighters.The ceremony paid tribute to Americans who have been helping people in the front line fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

Trump hints at immigration ban to tackle COVID-19 spread

Donald Trump has said that he will ban immigration into the United States to fight the “invisible enemy” of the novel coronavirus. He tweeted, that in the light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy as well as the need to protect the jobs of their American Citizens. He also mentioned that he will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States. 

Trump offers to mediate between India and Pakistan on Kashmir

United States President Donald Trump is willing to mediate between India and Pakistan on Kashmir again. A day after announcing in India that his relationship with Pakistan is “very good”, Trump reiterated his support to both countries saying that he would “do whatever he can” to help prime ministers Imran Khan and Narendra Modi as his relationship with both “gentlemen” was good.

Trump “unintentionally” makes fun of Tendulkar & Kohli’s names

Trump, while addressing the audience in Ahmedabad, India unintentionally made fun of Tendulkar and Kohli’s names. He said that he is talking to them at a place where people cheer on some of the greatest cricketers in the world. The American President was referring to Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli as “Soo-Chin Tendulkar” and “Virot Ko-Lee”.
